Coverage is Possible
Important Insurance Information
Insurance coverage is a tricky game. If you’ve had any experience with insurance companies, they don’t always seem to work in our best interests. I believe that all medicine should be functional medicine and I want the insurance companies to pay for this care. But it’s important you understand the facts and how your insurance will work with our approach.
FAQs
Do You offer telehealth or in person care?
We offer both in person and telehealth care. Telehealth allows you to conduct your visit with our practitioners from the comfort of your home where most of your “health care” takes place. This is appropriate for most functional medicine care. We can treat patients who reside in Oregon, Idaho and Arizona via telehealth. Aspire Wellness also offers in person visits in Garden City, ID.
What is the membership?
Because we believe that healthcare should be both affordable and accessible, we developed a membership model to provide the best personalized care, provide discounts on wellness services and supplements you’ll use in your treatment plan, and make ourselves available to you in our online portal. Please read more about your membership benefits here.
Do you bill insurance?
We are preferred providers (primary care) with Blue Cross of Idaho, Blue Shield, Regence, Pacific Source, Select Health, Mountain Health Co-Op, Cigna, and Providence.
We are not contracted with Aetna, United Health Care, Regence of Oregon Individual Plans, Medicaid, Medicare, and some individual Blue Cross and Regence plans.
Please call your insurance provider to guarantee coverage for our current EIN 47-2245016 and address location on this website. You can also text your insurance info to our office and we will verify on our end.
Most insurances not listed above are considered out-of-network. Please see below for out of network patient options.
We accept all HSA and FSA cards as a form of payment. We also accept Care Credit.
In 2026 we created a sister company Aspire Regenerative Wellness PLLC which offers reasonable cash pricing making functional medicine affordable.
Please read more on insurance coverage here.
What are my options if my insurance is out of network or I don't have insurance?
For out-of-network patients, you can pay cash. We offer a generous 30% discount off of our rates typically billed to insurance. Additionally, we can provide you with a detailed bill (Super Bill) for most services that contain ICD-10 diagnostic codes and CPT codes for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. We accept all HSA and FSA cards as a form of payment.
What Is Functional Medicine & How Is It Different from Conventional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is a holistic and personalized approach to healthcare, which seeks to address the root cause(s) of chronic disease and dysfunction. Treatment may include functional lab testing, stress management techniques, dietary/exercise and lifestyle recommendations, supplements and prescription medications. Conventional Medicine is focused on symptom amelioration with use of pharmaceuticals as the primary intervention.
Can You Be My Primary Care Provider?
Yes! Our practitioners are contracted with insurances as a primary care provider, but you must be accepted into our primary care practice to ensure our clinic structure can meet your health care needs. We do offer annual wellness exams for all ages in our Boise, ID office.
What Can I Expect From My First Visit?
Your initial visit will include a comprehensive consultation where we discuss your health history, symptoms, and goals. This visit will also include a diagnostic lab test order to further understand your health needs (We do not order labs in advance of the initial visit). Your practitioner may make nutrition, movement, sleep recommendations on your first visit. The first visit is about starting the therapeutic relationship and gathering a good history.
What Labs Will Be Ordered & How Much Will they cost?
We require all new patients to have a “functional blood draw panel”. If you have had labs done in the past 6 months and upload those to the portal prior to your appointment, we can use those and avoid repetition. Our clinic has access to discounted lab pricing and your entire panel can be done for $200-$300. We have found insurance companies deny some of our labs and will pass a charge of $220 for each lab to you. If you opt for insurance billing and labs are denied, that is your choice and not our responsibility.
We offer lab draws in our Boise, ID office with our exceptional phlebotomist.
We utilize many functional speciality lab tests such as DUTCH hormone, microbiome testing, genetic testing via 3×4 or Nutrition Genome, Genova Diagnostics, Vibrant America to name a few.
Do You Prescribe Medications?
Yes, if needed. Medications are prescribed based on patient history, necessity and as part of a patient-provider agreement. Some medications such as hormones or peptides will require consent forms prior to prescribing.
Prescription medications can be processed through insurance. In some cases, medications will not be covered, and in those cases I offer alternatives. We work closely with several highly accredited compounding pharmacies and their pharmacists. In doing so, we will strive to get you the highest quality medications for the lowest prices.
Where Do I purchase supplements recommended by my provider?
We have created a SHOP page with links to our online stores here on our website. Dr. Paulson has vetted these products and strives to offer you the highest quality supplements that are not adulterated with or stored in hot warehouses.
Our membership patients receive a 20% discount by ordering directly from Fullscript. Any other supplements not available via Fullscript will be indicated where to purchase on your visit summary after your appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your appointment will vary from 30-60 minutes depending on the visit type. This time is reserved for you and provider and staff time is used in preparation for your visit. Please cancel your appointment online or by phone at least 48 hours prior to your appointment if you need to cancel. This will allow time for the slot to be filled by another patient. If you do not notify us at least 48 hours in advance, you will be charged a $100 (follow up appointment) or $200 (new patient appointment) cancellation/no-show fee.
Do You See patients outside Oregon, Idaho, or Arizona?
No. State laws require your licensed practitioner to hold a license that the state the patient is in at the time of the visit. Our practitioners hold active licenses in Oregon, Idaho, Arizona and can see patients in those states.
